It is not that India does not have enough money, it has now sufficient amount of resources to take care of all the citizens of the country but the problem is that it is not distributed unifimly. What I mean to say is that the resouces are mainly concentrated with a few class of people. About 10% of the top Indians (economically graded) have about 75% of the coumtry's wealth in their hands. DOes not the picture seem similar in some sense to what India's condition was around 1400 A.D? India had a lot wealth at time and still we did not have enough power to preserve our wealth. So the invaders(starting from Muhammad Ghazi looting Somnath temple to the Britishers) started coming in to dominate us and loot our own possesions. Nobody resisted them at tghat time as we were not able to forsee the dangers that awaited for us. The result now known that we lost our self dignity for years.
The same situation seems to turn up now. We have wealth to a certain extent and the biggest resource that we seem to posses now is the cheap labour power. With restrictions beign removed and foreign investors beign allowed to settle their business in India, we are bringing in a new era of danger. A time is goimg to come when Indian companies will be losing out these foreign investors and then we the citizens will have no other optoion as to serve the foreigners and feed our stomach.
The idea of Gandhiji to boycot foreign goods should spark off in our minds right from now if we want to preserve our identity (I mean identity for the mddle class people mainly, as the upper class of the society will join hands with the foreigber, the lower class with limited expectatios will prefer to serve the foreigners again at whatever they are paid for, and the middle class will have no other option left in their hands). The present situation of India really needs to be handled carefulyy and deserves attention from all the worthwhile, responsible citizens of the country.Arnab Karhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00374148475577446294noreply@blogger.com
