Ah, music, once more, and despair

Taatal saikat e baribindu sama
suta mita ramani samaje
tohe bisari mann, tahe samarpilun
aba majhu habo kon kaaje?

Madhav, hum parinaam nirasha,
tnuhu jagataaran, deen dayamaye,
ataye tohare bisoasa.

(I have wasted my life bothering about child, friend, women and society, which are all like drops of rainwater falling on a heated beach - forgetting You. Now what good am I? Lord, I despair of redemption. But they say you save even the most hopeless and helpless, so I put my last trust in You: written by Vidyapati, about 700 years ago).

I found an incredible echo of this song in a 2013 Bollywood movie. Here.

I have loved too many, not wisely, perhaps, but only too well. Now there's only He. The only question is, when do I turn to Him at last? And how do I reconcile myself to the fact that a lot of pathetic humans will then lament they wish they had tried a bit harder to get close to me...?

Suvro da, it's been more than two weeks since you put up this post and the Bollywood song. The song plays in the soul; some of the pain is abated sometimes. It feels different from the piece by Vidyapati. With Vidyapati's piece there is a horrible hollow...
I'm reminded of one old and maybe not an irrelevant memory; I'll save it for another day with a few questions. I'll not write yards.

This post reminded me of your Debjaan post and distinct parts from the book and my favourite post from this year. I feel queer saying thank you for this post and the song link - but I'd have never heard the music otherwise.

It's Christmas eve, so I'll wish you a Merry Christmas and good tidings and God's love for the rest of the year and the one that is to be - so much for now. - Shilpi

Dear Sir,

I have often wondered about why we say that 'We fall in love'. Maybe, as penned by Vidyapati, we can only rise in love if it is the love of God.
As Kahlil Gibran wrote- "For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning." . However, in this Christmas and the New Year that follows, I wish and pray that you experience less of bitterness and your life becomes more pleasant.

With regards,
Saikat.

Dear Suvro-da,
happy new year. I chose to comment on this old post as this search we all have to do sooner or later.
Without wasting words a ytube link for you to listen and relax:

for you.
I wish sometime when I next visit durgapur to have more intense discussions about this search of supreme.
best regards
