Here's a teaser!

Some folks have advised me to keep my posts short - then readers will respond more easily (I know, of course, that that's not true, seeing that hardly anybody has yet responded to those of my posts which are very short!), and that I should write something about love. So I'll combine both suggestions with a short teaser about love here, quoting the poet:

"Love at first sight, some say,
Misnaming the helplessness of twinn'd souls
'gainst the huge tug of procreation!"
Let's see how many responses this one fetches, and of what quality, within 48 hours!

Oh, thats is so true.

To begin with there is no such thing a love at first sight. It is plain and simple sexual attraction.

Ofcourse, i base my observation on my understanding of love ( esp. the man and woman kind) which i feel is rather inadequate at the moment.
Infact, at times i am tempted to believe that there is no such thing as love -that it is a toss between duty and desire.
Most say i am being unnecesarily pessimistic, even bitter. May be they are right, but still they remain unconvincing.

So very true, isn't it? Love at first sight, why not? And pray, what triggered that amorous feeling, if not beauty alone? And that, I'd say, cannot be love. Beauty does not last, same goes for "love" based on beauty alone. So.....
Though I'd like to differ with Mayuri (yes, once again :P)! I'd say love does exist, just that I am not too convinced the fairer sex is capable of it. All they look for in a relationship is whether the person involved can grant them a secure future. Not their fault, women are lot more "practical" than men, unlike most would want to believe. Once that's ensured, they think of love. Where's the love then? Love cannot be based on conditions. There's this one sentence in the song "Koi jab tumhara hriday tod de", it goes:

Koi shart hoti nahi pyaar mein
Magar pyaar sharton pe tumne kiya

Sums it all...

the love between a boy and a girl is shown here which people generally take it in the negative sense and create so much fuss about it,but fail to observe the more beautiful side of this aspect. it is true that "new creation" is the "product" of "love",but is it always so?
why can't people accept this plain and simple fact?
why is the paparazzi becoming so "popular" and "well-established"?

In 72 hours I have got just four comments here. Not very heartening, is it? Have I proved my point? (the time given below is nonsensical: it's 2:20 in the afternoon on March 13 here!)

i don't quite know if i've crossed the time limit but i do think that such a deep and complex topic shouldn't at all be dealt within time constraints.. :)

hi.

you don't know me, ..but maybe, i know a bit 'bout you.

leave it. who cares who we really are.

love at first sight?
don't know exactly! ..but love has n-e-v-e-r been so casual as if only to deal with beauty or physical sex. and it was neither sexual attraction.
does it happen at the first sight or gradually, ..love was love. always. A JOURNEY.. NOTHING ELSE!

A JOURNEY WHERE YOU GET TAUGHT ON SELF-SACRIFICE!

A JOURNEY THAT TEACHES YOU THAT THIS WORLD WAS ALWAYS SO SUPERFICIAL ALONG WITH ITS RELATIONSHIPS.. IF YOU NEVER CARED TO FIND OUT THAT SACRIFICE DOESN'T MEAN PAIN..

IT MEANS A TRANSFORMATION FROM ONE LEVEL TO ANOTHER.. FROM WHERE YOU GET TO SEE THE WORLD MORE PATIENTLY, ..WITH MORE EMPATHY AND COMPASSION.

PAIN WAS THE BEGINNING.
BUT IT WAS ALWAYS THERE AT THE VERY START OF THE KARMIC CYCLE.
BECAUSE IT'S P-A-I-N THAT MAKES YOU LEARN YOUR MISTAKES.. AND TEACHES YOU TOLERANCE! ..PAIN LEADES TO UNDERSTANDING.

..THAT LOVE WAS ALWAYS THERE.. WAITING FOR YOU TO COME TO IT.. BUT YOU'VE FAILED AS YOU'VE TARGETTED LOVE ITSELF AND THE PLEASURES OUT OF IT.

WHAT HAPPENNED TO THAT PERSON?
DID YOU GIVE MORE IMPORTANCE TO HIM/HER..? ..THAN YOURSELF? ...THAN A THOUSAND SOCIAL OR MORAL ETTIQUETS THAT YOU ARE BOUND TO FOLLOW? ..THAN THE SEARCH FOR THE ETERNAL JOY THAT YOU'VE BELIEVED TO GET OUT OF YOUR LOVE-LIFE?

W-H-A-T A-B-O-U-T T-H-E P-E-R-S-O-N????????????

SELFLESSNESS IS THE ESSENCE OF LOVE.. AND PLEASE DON'T ASK ME IF IT WAS AT ALL POSSIBLE! ..I'LL NOT ANSWER!

:) :)

DO BELIEVE ME THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD STILL, WHO K-N-O-W-S HOW TO LOVE! ..AND WHAT LOVE IS..

sorry for such a long and boring comment.. and it's full of tall talk and it's rubbish of course! ..:) you agree or you don't! ..it's rubbish!

and if you had time, ..TO W-A-S-T-E..

DO VISIT MY BLOG-SPACE!
I'LD DEFINITELY LIKE TO HAVE ALL OF YOUR COMMENTS THERE!

(WARNING: MY OWN POSTS ARE ALL IDIOTIC, RUBBISH AND A-B-S-U-R-D! ..BUT DO PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THEY ARE SYMBOLIC! ...I AM NOT A PRACTICAL PERSON AT ALL!)

Dear Akaash,
Thanks for your comments. But I do care about your identity: why should you want to remain in the shadows?

what happens when love occurs at the very first sight?
Amidst nature's sultry, oppressive mood , you suddenly feel
there is a sudden vernal enchantment that soothes?
A magical migraine clogs your mind,
Reasons vapourise.
And you see 'beauty ' all around?
..................well,none loves to be called a strategist while defining the ' noblest frailty of mind'(atleast the men and women kind). But have you ever pondered that beauty can at times be ephemeral too??
.......anway there is nothing wrong in harbouring some pleasant memories in heart to which you can always smile back(and sometimes with a sigh!). Isn't it?

JAAH!
BHUL HOYE GECHHE TO!

IF YOU WOULD JUST NOT CALL IT ANOTHER CASE OF A CHILDISH EMBARRASEMENT..

Going by what Kas said and which I have always realized is the biggest hurdle that routine life poses on the path of true love as idolized by poets- all kinds of love that we see and feel around us are somehow based on one or more conditions.
Leaving out the so called "love" that goes on in between people of opposite sex at a young age, I would like to consider love of probably a more mature nature( pardon me, I could not find a better adjective, love between two youngsters can be very mature at times too). The way a father loves a child is probably much more noble, in the sense that there is much more giving than the wish of getting back in return. However aren't there expectations associated with every relationship?

After a lot of thought after a debate regarding this issue, I could think that probably the best kind of love is that of a man towards his pet- but again there are some kind of hopes of return expected even from the pet. Can man/woman actually love something truly without the hope of getting anything back?
